Southland cricket team is a cricket team representing the Southland Region of New Zealand and currently competes in the Hawke Cup.

Southland as a representative team played interprovincial cricket as early as 1864,[1] and later first played first-class cricket in 1915 against Otago at Rugby Park, Invercargill, with their first-class debut ending in a 118 run defeat with Southland being dismissed for scores of 71 and 62.[2] The team would next appear in seven further first-class fixtures, with them appearing in first-class cricket for a final time in 1921 against the touring Australians at Rugby Park. Southland appeared eight times in first-class cricket, winning once, losing five and drawing two.[3] Southland played all their home first-class matches at Rugby Park, Invercargill.

Southland today competes in the Hawke Cup, which is played below first-class level. The Southland Cricket Association is based at Invercargill. The Southland Cricket Association forms part of the Otago cricket team, which competes in first-class, List A and Twenty20 domestic cricket competitions.
