Soundbombing II is the second installment in Rawkus Records Soundbombing compilation series mixed by DJ's J-Rocc & Babu in a mixtape format. These mixes exemplify what it is for a DJ to actually mix two records together smoothly. Soundbombing II was possibly the most successful and acclaimed release out of all the Rawkus compilations.
Soundbombing II features both up-and-coming MCs and established rappers, attempting to deliver an underground Hip Hop sound to a mainstream audience. This unique combination of artists went on to become somewhat of a cult classic.
The lead single, "1-9-9-9", featuring Common (pictured on album art) and Sadat X (also pictured), became a hit record in 1999. The album features appearances from:
