SoundGirl was a London-based band that consisted of Olivia Redmond, Izzy Beardshaw, and Nicole Shortland. Their debut single "I'm the Fool" features UK rapper Twizzle.[1] They have opened for Justin Bieber, The Wanted, Scouting For Girls and Pixie Lott on tour.[1] However, the band split up in April 2012[2] after just one charting single, "Don't Know Why", which peaked at #45 in the UK.
Formation
Nicole and Izzy were already friends and classmates in London that sang together before another girl from their neighborhood, Olivia, joined to form SoundGirl.[3] One day, a management company was holding auditions for a girl band project in one of the dance studios. The three girls went, wrote a song in ten minutes, and sang it for them. The management company signed them on the spot. They performed on children's TV show Friday Download with their first charting single, "Don't Know Why".[citation needed]
