Sherwin Kenneth "Sonny" Gandee, Sr. (February 27, 1929 – July 21, 2013) was a professional American football linebacker and defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for Ohio State, Gandee was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 9th round (106th overall) of the 1952 NFL Draft. He played for five seasons for the Dallas Texans (1952) and the Detroit Lions (1952–1957). Sonny won three World Championships in his career with the Detroit Lions in 1952, 1953 and 1957.[1][2] He died July 21, 2013.[3]
