Sonatala (Bengali: সোনাতলা) is an Upazila of Bogra District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. An administrative thana was founded at Sonatala in 1981 and upgraded as Upazila in 1984.
Geography
Sonatala is located at 25°02′00″N 89°29′30″E / 25.0333°N 89.4917°E . It has 27170 units of house hold and a total area of 132.64 km² (approximately).

Demographics
As of the 1991 Bangladesh census, Sonatala has a population of 146028. Males constitute 50.63% of the population, and females 49.37%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 69297. Sonatala has an average literacy rate of 26.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate.[1]
