Burmese Tangkhul (Tangkhul Naga), known as Somra (Somara) after its literary dialect, is a Tibetan–Burman language of Burma. The two ethnic Tangkhul languages are related, but are not mutually intelligible. The native speakers consist of 5000 speakers in Myanmar and 200000 speakers in Ukhrul, India Somra language is also close to Akyaung Ari.
