Sociological Research Online is a sociological journal, published quarterly (March, June, September, December) since March 1996. It is an online-only, peer revised journal. It is published by a consortium of the British Sociological Association, SAGE Publications, the University of Surrey and the University of Stirling.[1]

As of April 2013, according to the journal website, it's editors are Rachel Brooks, Paul Hodkinson.[2] At the same time, SAGE lists Rosaline Barbour and Susan Eley as editors.[1]

The journal is indexed by ISI, IBSS, and Sociological Abstracts.[1] As of 2010, the journal had an impact factor of 0.54.[1] According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2011 impact factor of 0.446, ranking it 96th out of 137 journals in the category "Sociology".[3]


The journal is available without charge to individuals who do not have access to institutional networks, although it requires submitting a form asking for access.[4][1]
