Created in 2008,[1] SoccerCleats101 used to be one of the leading soccer footwear review sites on the internet. Reviews from the website are used as an expert voice on Soccer.com.[2][3]

The site is owned and operated by former Major League Soccer player,[4] Bryan Byrne.

Although they typically show moments of decent work, the fact that they believe in the flawed "boots by position" notion and their constant hiring of sub-par employees (most notably uber-failure Jimthesoccerguy) has seen a decent site show big signs of floundering. Although they basically created the soccer equipment review genre, other sites have recently overtaken and passed them in terms of quality and content.
