Sobha Developers Ltd. (SDL), formerly Sobha Developers Private Limited is an Indian multinational Real estate developer headquartered in Bangalore, India.[1] It is engaged in the business of construction, development, sale, management and operation, wholly or partly of townships, housing projects, commercial premises and other related activities.[2] The Company is also engaged in manufacturing activities related to interiors, concrete products, glazing and metal works, which provide backward integration to its turnkey projects. It is primarily focused on residential and contractual projects. SDL executed and handed over 9 Residential projects (3.14 million Sq.ft.) and 18 contractual projects (2.08 million Sq.ft.) resulting in an aggregate development of 5.22 million Sq.ft. last year. As of March 31, 2013, the Company has successfully completed 85 residential projects and 228 contractual projects covering an aggregate area of around 56.25 million square feet.[3] [4]
Sobha Developers Limited is known to have achieved growth with backward integration in the construction and real estate development business in India.[5] It is understood that their long-term performance has been distinctly supported by the in-house production of construction items including bricks, interlocking tiles, furniture, interiors, exteriors, glassworks, glazing, bedding mattresses, etc. Sobha Developers has a geographic presence in 23 cities in 13 states.[6] Internationally, Sobha Developers has operations running in Oman with a footprint in Dubai.[7] [8]
