Smolniki [smɔlˈniki] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Rutka-Tartak, within Suwałki County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Lithuania.[1] It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) south of Wiżajny, 23 km (14 mi) north of Suwałki, and 132 km (82 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok.
Until 31 December 2009 it was a part of gmina Wiżajny.
