"Smile" was the lead single released from Scarface's fourth album, The Untouchable. It was produced by Scarface, Mike Dean and Tone Capone and featured a last appearance from 2Pac, as well as R&B singer Johnny P. "Smile" was a huge success, becoming Scarface's biggest charting and most successful single to date, making it to 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was one of the last songs Tupac recorded. A Tupac look-alike was used in the video for the song. On August 8, 1997, the RIAA certified "Smile" Gold, making "Smile" the only Scarface single to achieve a certification. Near the end of the video for "Smile," Scarface is reciting a poem in memory of 2Pac, who was shot dead in September, 1996. And after Notorious B.I.G.'s violent death in March, Scarface acknowledged his passing as well at the end of the poem, despite not working with the latter rapper in the video right around the time it was first shown.
