Slab City, Wisconsin is an unincorporated community in Shawano County, Wisconsin, in the Town of Hartland.[1][2] It is located one mile south of Bonduel on Wisconsin Highway 47.
Geography
Slab City has hilly terrain all the way though town. Slab City borders a river and sits partially in a valley and partially over the valley banks.
History
Slab City was founded as a small settlement by immigrants in the 19th century.
Transportation
Wisconsin State Highways 29 and 47 run through Slab City and provide access to both north-south (Wisconsin State Highway 47) and east-west (Wisconsin State Highway 29) trade routes that span the entire state. The community is well connected to large cities, such as Appleton along Hwy 47 and Green Bay along Hwy 29.
Business and industry
Slab City is home to the MCC Slab City Quarry as well as a scuba diving store. The small community was also home to its own microbrewery called Slab City Brewery, which had a beer named Old 47, after the Hwy that runs though the center of town.[3]
Culture
There is a church in Slab City. Snowmobile trails provide fun and transportation to and through the hamlet during the winter months.
