Skylake is the codename for a processor microarchitecture to be developed by Intel as the successor to the Broadwell architecture.[1] Skylake will use the 14 nm manufacturing process.[2]

There are no official details regarding this microarchitecture's development. The first Skylake processors are expected in 2015 or 2016.[3]

  • 12 MB L3 cache, 24-way set associative (12 cycles)[citation needed]
  • 128 MB L4 eDRAM cache
  • quad-core as the default mainstream configuration[citation needed]
  • support for SATA Express[6]
  • AVX-512F: Advanced Vector Extensions 3.2
  • Intel SHA Extensions: SHA-1 and SHA-256 (Secure Hash Algorithms)
  • Intel MPX (Memory Protection Extensions)
