Magnum Air (Skyjet), Inc., operating as SKYJET AIRLINES, The Country's First Leisure Airline is a full service airline that launched[2][3] the Manila-Basco route for its initial operation. The airline started regular flights on the route beginning December 14, 2012. SkyJet flies the only Jet Service to Coron (Palawan), Batanes (Basco) and soon Boracay (Caticlan) using BA-146 Jet British Aerospace aircraft, the same aircraft used by the British Royal Family. [4] The airline's operation is in cooperation with the Basco-based Batanes Travel and Tours. The new airline will compete with Sky Pasada. Aside from Batanes, the airline expects to launch flights to other underserved destinations in the Philippines such as Catarman, Boracay (Caticlan) [5] Virac,[6][7] Surigao.[8] The airline also provide charter flights for business meetings, group tours, VIP trips to the following destinations: Catarman, Caticlan, Cebu, Davao, Siargao, Surigao, Tablas, Tagbilaran and Tuguegarao or even international flights. Magnum Air (Skyjet) also has the license for International Flights. SkyJet is owned by 2 young innovative entrepreneurs, Dr. Joel Mendoza and Hon. Dino Reyes Chua.
History
The airline started as charter flight offering flights to group travelers and tourists in the exotic islands of the Philippines (2010). [9] On April 8, 2012,[10][11] it launched its regular charter flight to Basco Batanes. After realizing potential and the lack of competition on the Manila-Basco route, the boutique airline company was launched last December 14, 2012 regular flights to Basco Airport, the capital of Batanes. After few months, this leisure airline also launched it's inaugural flights to Coron, Palawan (manila-busuanga) and Virac, Catanduanes. SkyJet also charters the VIP Members and VIP Guests of Balesin Island (Alpha Land Corp.) After almost 1 year of operation, Dr. Joel Mendoza forged a strategic partnership with Former Cavite City Vice-Mayor and Current Provincial Board Member- Hon. Dino Reyes Chua (President of Greenbelt Hotels International and Chairman of DC Group of Companies) who is also a believer and prime mover of the Tourism industry who shares the same dream and vision of Dr. Joel Mendoza to create the First Leisure Airline in the Country, serving the under-served unique and exotic island destinations in the Philippines!
