Skanderbeg Square (Macedonian: Плоштадот „Скендер-бег“) is a square in Skopje, Macedonia construction of which began on 17 January 2012.

The construction of the Skanderbeg Square is a part of the Skopje 2014 project, financed by the Government of Macedonia.[1]

An existing statue of Skanderbeg will be the main fixture of an under construction square that will bear his name in Skopje's Čair Municipality. The square's total cost is estimated at around 10 million euros and is expected to be completed in 2014. The square will cover 28,000 m2 (301,389 ft2) and will extend from Macedonian Philharmonic and Macedonian Opera to the Old Bazaar. This will require building a portion of the square on top of Goce Delčev Boulevard. Aside from plenty of open space, the square will contain an amphitheatre, a fountain, and underground parking.[2][3]
