History

The university was originally situated in former barracks of the Swedish Armed Forces, which were modernised and modified for the needs of the university. Most of the university is now located in modern buildings. The campus is located alongside the Gothenburg-Stockholm railway, near the center of Skövde.

In addition to the core buildings, there are two other related buildings: the Gothia Science Park,[4] an incubator for start-ups and considered to be an interface for science and local business, and the Boulogner,[5] a student union house for recreation.
