Siyaqut (also, Siyagut and Siyakut) is a village and municipality in the Sharur Rayon of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It has a population of 1,548.
The village was founded in the 1850s by Assyrian immigrants from Salmas, Persia and remained the only Chaldean Christian village in the South Caucasus, then under the control of the Russian Empire. Beginning in the 1880s, the priest serving in Siyaqut was ordained by the Roman Catholic bishop.[1]
