Sion Russell Jones

Siôn Russell Jones is a Welsh singer and songwriter from Cardiff.[1]

Early life and career

Sion was born in Cardiff, Wales. Jones started playing the guitar at the age of 7, studied music at the University of Glamorgan.[1] In October 2010, Siôn released his debut album And Suddenly via Still Small Voice Music, which was recorded during his final year at The Atrium School of Creative & Cultural Industries, Cardiff.[2]

Jones’s music has received airplay on regional & national radio stations, and his latest single, "Indestructible", made BBC Radio Wales Single of the Week and was championed by Craig Charles on his BBC Radio 2 show.[citation needed] Siôn’s music has also been used in the background on the British soap operas Coronation Street and EastEnders.[2]

In 2011, Jones signed a publishing deal with BDi music,[3] and during the summer of 2011, he performed at several UK festivals including HowTheLightGetsIn,[citation needed] The Acoustic Festival of Britain, Festival of the Celts, and the Greenman Festival.[3]

In March 2012, Jones performed at the SXSW musical festival in Austin, Texas.[4]
