Sinovel Wind Group Company (Chinese: 中文:华锐风电) is the largest turbine manufacturer in China and by 2011 market share the second largest in the world.[1]

The company aims to be the largest turbine maker by 2015 with half of sales for foreign markets.[2]

Donghai Bridge Wind Farm, the first offshore wind farm in China, began operation in July 2010 using 34 3 MW Sinovel turbines.

In December 2010, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority ordered a 1.5 MW wind turbine to power a wastewater pumping station in Charleston, Boston.[2]

The firm is accused of stealing software from AMSC and is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with that firm.[3][4] On 27 June 2013, the United States Department of Justice declared Sinovel and three Individuals were charged with theft of trade secrets.[5]
