Sinead Norenius is a celebrity spray tan artist, editor-in-chief of the blog Self Tanning Queen, a founding member of iFabbo (International Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Organization), and the founder of Beautisol, a sunless tanning and anti-aging company based in San Francisco. In addition, she is a licensed esthetician and veteran educator with sixteen years of experience within the skincare industry.[1] As an educator in skin care, she is seen as an authority in self-tanning and sun care and has created one of the only self-tanning brands that utilizes Pure Scent technology.[2]
Career
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Norenius is now based in San Francisco, California. She first began her skincare career as a paramedical esthetician for a prestigious plastic surgeon based in Newport Beach, CA. She then took on a position as Sales Director for YonKa Paris, a French luxury skin care company.
After her time at YonKa Paris, Norenius founded The Beauty Firm, a marketing consulting agency focusing on the skincare, beauty, and fashion industry. Norenius's duties were to market, brand, and develop clientele such as Asha Couture and Mineral Essence. She soon began working as the Director of Education – North America for St. Tropez, a leading sunless tanning brand based in the United Kingdom and United States.[3] As a member of the original St. Tropez Tan North America start-up team, Norenius helped successfully launch St. Tropez’s campaign in 2007. At the same time, she also contributed to a number of high profile luxury establishments and worked on strategic partnerships and acquisitions of accounts at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company.[4]
Although Norenius has taken on other business endeavors, she continues to work as a celebrity spray tan artist. Past clients have included British singer Natasha Bedingfield and Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York City.[5]
Self Tanning Queen
After working on St. Tropez's North American campaign, Norenius's desire to create an online forum for sun care and skin care inquiries led to the establishment of her blog, the Self Tanning Queen. Her blog consists of self-tanning tips and tricks, health news, and general sun and skin care.[6]
Beautisol
In 2009, along with Chris Raniere and Tom Fischer, Norenius developed her own self-tanning brand called Beautisol (formerly known as Antidote Skin Care). Norenius sought to differentiate her brand from other self tanners by incorporating Pure Scent technology, a technology that eliminates the DHA processing odor associated with most self tanners.[7] Beautisol also promotes their skin-specific face self tanners as unique from other tanning lotions. In April 2011, Norenius was invited to showcase her product line Beautisol on Home Shopping Network (HSN). After having sold out her products at the initial launch, she was invited back in June 2011.
Other
In addition to her pursuits as an esthetician, blogger, and entrepreneur, Norenius is the co-founder of iFabbo, the International Fashion and Beauty Bloggers Organization, founded in 2010. Her organization is a community of bloggers dedicated to a constant dialogue and communication between brands and bloggers. iFabbo has held events with sponsors such as stila and Murad in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Norenius is also a member of the National Coalition of Estheticians, Manufacturers, and Distributors and Associations (NCEO).[8]
Norenius has been featured in Good Housekeeping,[9] Houston Family Magazine,[10] Northern Virginia Magazine,[11] Total Beauty, and The Boston Globe. Her Beautisol products have been featured in Teen Vogue[12] and popular beauty blogs such as bellasugar and Kitten Lounge.
