Company history

Simplifydigital.co.uk is UK-based price comparison and switching service originally founded in 2007 by two ex-BSkyB executives, Charlie Ponsonby and Lawrence Bleach.[1] It remains a privately owned, independent company operating a website and UK call centre providing price comparison and switching for broadband, Digital TV, home phone and mobile broadband products. The business formally launched in January 2008 with a team recruited from uSwitch.com, Tesco and Moneysupermarket.com.

Charlie Ponsonby, Chief Executive was Marketing Director at BSkyB for five years before leaving to start Simplifydigital in early 2007.[2] Lawrence Bleach, is its Chief Operating Officer and joining soon after Charlie and was Retail Marketing and Distribution Director at BSkyB.

Recent initiatives

In August 2008 Simplifydigital announced a partnership [3] with Sainsbury’s to provide a white label version of its service. In 2009 Simplifydigital launched [4] a series of DRTV advertisements featuring Actor Peter Halpin[5] as the character "Ben". Halpin is the current TV face of Simplifydigital (2009–present)
