Simpang Ampat, also known as Simpang Empat, is a town in the district of South Seberang Perai, in the state of Penang, Malaysia.

It borders Bukit Mertajam town to the north, Junjung town to the east, Sungai Bakap town to the south, and Batu Kawan town to the west. The town is directly linked to PLUS North-South Expressway, and soon will be linked to Penang Second Bridge.

Simpang Ampat proper encompasses the entire area which consists of Juru, Bukit Minyak, Bukit Tambun, Batu Kawan, Pulau Aman, Tasek and Valdor. The town itself, known as Pekan Simpang Ampat, is located in South Seberang Perai district along Federal Route 1, between the junctions of Jalan Tasek and Jalan Bukit Tambun. The commercial centre of the town which has most of the major retail outlets are located along Federal Route 1, which forms the main artery of the town. The town is mostly surrounded by palm oil plantations.

Recently Simpang Ampat has been undergoing rapid housing development and is a favourite hunt for property buyers from out of town.

Demographics

Majority of people residing in this town is Chinese, followed by Malay, and Indian.
