Simon Thornton
Simon Mark Thornton (born 17 March 1970 in Brighton[1]) is an English recording engineer, mix engineer, remixer, producer and musician.
First worked at Esselle Beat studios in late 1980s, but later became resident engineer for Norman Cook in all his various guises as Fatboy Slim, Freakpower, Pizzaman, Mighty Dub Katz et al.
Thornton also mastered and edited many other releases for the Skint Records label.
In recent years has been co-remixer on tracks for The Mock Turtles and also has remixed on his own for Tears for Fears.
Is currently performing and co-producing the new Brighton Port Authority album, according to his blog A Mutual Misunderstanding.
His solo electronica album under the name Login Joshua[2] is due for release through iTunes Q2 2009. The project was documented through his blog, with the aim of choosing a name, setting up a website and recording each track in less than an evening.[3] The project was partly a comment on the record industry's failure to change with the times.
