Simon Petrén (born 14 March 1986) is a Swedish music producer, composer, songwriter and pianist. He holds a Diploma in Piano Music Performance at the Royal Schools of Music in London and a Bachelor degree in Film Scoring and Music Production at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He is Head of Production at the Songwriting and Production company Stockholm Sound Facility. As of 2012 Petrén, is producing the album for YouTube phenomena Dirty Loops together with lead singer/keyboardist Jonah Nilsson. The band is managed by Andreas Carlsson, and the album is due for release by David Foster and Verve Records/Universal Music, USA. [1] When competing in the Swedish Eurovision 2013 with the song Breaking the Silence, Terese Fredenwall and Simon Petrén broke the record by getting the best placement ever in the Swedish Eurovision history as an artist selected by the Swedish people. With a fifth place in the semi finals they beat, among others, Army of Lovers. The song also got the yearly award for Best Lyrics.[2]
