Simon Andersson (born 18 December 1980) is a Swedish bass player, guitarist, vocalist, music programmer, songwriter and record producer, best known for his work as a bass player in progressive metal band Pain of Salvation. He currently plays bass in the progressive metal band Darkwater ^[1] and guitar/bass in metal band Brave New Sky, featuring Dec Burke (ex Frost*), Richard West (Threshold) and Andy Edwards (ex Robert Plant).

Equipment

Simon uses Apple computers, Pro Tools DAW, Avid Eleven Rack, M-Audio Axiom Pro, Adam monitors, Sansamp RBI, Darkglass Electronics B7K, Focusrite Liquid Saffire, Native Instruments, SSD, Spectrasonics, Toontrack, Waves, Softube, Project Sam etc... A heavily modified Ibanez RG7321 7-string guitar, an Ibanez RGA8 8-string guitar, an Agile Intrepid Pro 8-string guitar and a Fender Telecaster 6-string guitar. An Epiphone Les Paul STD "The Vinnie" 4-string bass and a Warwick Fortress 5-string bass are his weapons of choice.
