Sierra Baseball League

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sierra Baseball League was a collegiate wood bat baseball league that plays at ballparks in California and Oregon. They had teams in Nevada before.

It was founded in 2007 by Lodi GrapeSox owner Stevie Mac. The league commissioner is Phil Swimley, office manager is Angela Tatem and the marketing director is Bruce Gallaudet.[1]

The SBL absorbed teams from the bygone competitors: the Pacific Baseball League, Sacramento Rural League (1946–2010), the Southern California Baseball League and the Cascade Baseball League who had fielded teams in Washington.

As of January 2011 the league seems dormant, with the last update on the website being in 2008.

Teams

These teams (some are former members of other leagues) may play in other collegiate baseball leagues based in California; and Nevada, Oregon or Washington state.
