Siegfried Jamrowski (1 November 1917 3 September 2012[1]) was a Major in the Fallschirmjäger during World War II. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for his actions in the Battle of Monte Cassino. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Jamrowski was captured by British troops in May 1945 and was held until 1946.
