Sidney A. Katz is an American politician and businessman, whos is currently serving as the 18th and current mayor of Gaithersburg, Maryland, holding the office since 1998.[1]

Early life and education

Katz attended the University of Maryland where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration.[2]

Career

Katz was a member of the City of Gaithersburg Planning Commission from 1976 until 1978,[2] a council member from 1978[2] and the mayor of Gaithersburg since 1998.[1]

Personal life

Besides being a politician, Katz is also the co-owner of Wolfson's Department Store in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Katz is also the husband of Sally Katz and the father of two children.[2]
