Shuangfupu Town(simplified Chinese: 双凫铺镇; traditional Chinese: 雙鳧鋪鎮; pinyin: Shuāngfúpù Zhèn), is an urban town in Ningxiang County, Changsha City, Hunan Province, People's Republic of China. It's surrounded by Laoliangcang Town and Hengshi on the west, Yujia'ao Township on the north, Dachengqiao Town and Zifu Township on the east, and Xieleqiao Town and Fengmuqiao Township on the south. As of the 2000 census it had a population of 36,374 and an area of 89.5 square kilometers.

Cityscape

The Town is divided into eleven villages and one community, the following areas: Shuangfupu Community (双凫铺社区), Yuahua Village (月华村), Hexuan Village (合轩村), Shuangyan Village (双燕村), Shuangfu Village (双凫村), Yuxin Village (余新村), Maitian Village (麦田村), Hejiang Village (河江村), Shuanggui Village (双桂村), Suxi Village (粟溪村), Huilongshan Village (回龙山村) and Quanjing Village (泉井村).

Geography

Wei River is known as "Mother River", a tributary of the Xiang River, it flows through the town.[1]

Economy

The region abounds with iron.[1]

Prunus mume, tobacco and watermelon are important to the economy.[1]

Education

There are one senior high school located with the town limits:Ningxiang County Fifth Senior High School (宁乡五中).

Culture

Huaguxi is the most influence local theater.

S206 Provincial Highway (省道S206) running through the town. The 1810 Provincial Highway (1810省道) from Yutan Town, running through Shuangfupu Town, Hengshi Town, Laoliangcang Town, Liushahe Town, Qingshanqiao Town to Loudi City.[1]

Attractions

Baiyun Temple is a buddhism temple in Huilong Mountain (回龙山), it was built in the Tang Dynasty and later destroyed and rebuilt several times, where Mao Zedong made social research in 1917.Gautama Buddha is the main target of worship, also worship the Three Saints of the West (西方三圣), the Ksitigarbha, and the twenty four Heavens (二十四位诸天).[1]
