The Shire of Lexton was a lLocal government area about 150 kilometres (93 mi) northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The shire covered an area of 821.03 square kilometres (317.0 sq mi), and existed from 1860 until 1994.
History
Lexton was incorporated as a road district on 17 February 1860, and became a shire on 30 June 1864. In January 1941, it annexed part of the Shire of Avoca.[2]
On 23 September 1994, the Shire was abolished, and merged with Shire of Ripon and most of Shire of Avoca into the Shire of Pyrenees.[3]
