Shimon Ratner was a football coach, who coached the British Mandate for Palestine in 1934,[1] taking control of them for their first ever match during the 1934 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.[2] Born in Poland, Ratner emigrated from Austria to Palestine, following a playing career with Hakoah Vienna.[2]
