Shilin Station

The Taipei Metro Shilin Station is located in the Shilin District of Taipei, Taiwan. It is a station on the Red Line. The station was formerly a stop on the now-defunct TRA Tamsui Line.

The station is situated between the metro-shaped park and Zhongzheng Road, near Zhongshan North Road and Wenlin Road. The station is an elevated structure with one island platform and two sided exits. The restrooms are inside the entrance area of both exits.[2]

In the future, the station will allow transfers to the planned Circular Line via an underground station.[3]

History

TRA Station

  • October 25, 1901: Opened for service along with the Tamsui Railway Line as "Shilin Parking Station."
  • July 15, 1988: Closed along with the TRA Tamsui Line.

Taipei Metro Station

  • March 28, 1997: Opened for service with the opening of the segment from Tamsui to Zhongshan.
