Shiki (志木市 Shiki-shi) is a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on October 26, 1970.

As of April 1, 2008, the city has an estimated population of 69,549 and a population density of 7,313 persons per km². The total area is 9.06 km².

Geography and transportation

Shiki is served by Yanasegawa Station on the Tōbu Tōjō Line to Ikebukuro in Tokyo. The journey takes around 20 minutes by semi express train. Trains also run to central Tokyo stations on the Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line. The Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line connects Shiki to Shibuya, Tokyo with a thirty five-minute journey by express train. Shiki Station on the Tōbu Tōjō Line is actually located in neighbouring Niiza.[1]

Shiki City Hall is situated on the Shiki side of the station, approximately twenty-five minutes on foot.
