Shibganj (Bengali: শিবগঞ্জ (বগুড়া)) is an Upazila of Bogra District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
Geography
Shibganj is located at 25°01′00″N 89°19′00″E / 25.0167°N 89.3167°E. It has about 63,721 households, and a total area of 315.33 km² (approximately).
Demographics
As of 1991 Bangladesh census, Shibganj has a population of 312,773. Males constitute 51.39% of the population, and females 48.61%. This Upazila's population over the age of eighteen is 162,646. Shibganj has an average literacy rate of 24.1% (7+ years). But Literacy rate among the town people is 63.2%.[1] The national average is 32.4% literacy.[2]
Administrative
Shibganj has 12 Unions parishads/Wards, 245 Mauzas/Mahallas, and 436 villages. The Unions parishads are: Shibganj, Bihar, Roynagar, Buriganj, Majhihata, Pirab, Atmul, Kichak, Maidanhata, Deuli, Mokamtala, Saidpur.
