Shevchenkove

Shevchenkove (Ukrainian: Шевченкове; Russian: Шевченково) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine in the Kharkiv Oblast. It started in 1860 as a village named Bulacelovka after the owner of that land, Bulacel. Its geographical coordinates in decimals are 46.87° N and 32.21° E and the telephone code for the area is +38 (05751). Its population according to the 2001 census was 3148, and is estimated to have gone down to 2978 in the year 2007. The city contains a three-star hotel, the Kharkov. It is said to be one of the villages where Taras Shevchenko spent his childhood.
