Sherman A. Minton

Sherman Anthony Minton Jr. (24 February 1919 - 15 June 1999) was a herpetologist and toxicologist, who conducted the earliest detailed modern studies of amphibians and reptiles in Pakistan. Born in New Albany, Indiana, he was the son of United States Senator and Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court Sherman Minton. He received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Indiana University in 1939 and a Master's Degree in 1942. He authored more than fifty books and papers detailing his discoveries in Pakistan, and four of his discovered species are named in his honor; Proacris mintoni, Coluber karelini mintonorum, Gymnodactylus mintoni, Typhlops madgemintonai shermanai.[1]
