Sheredes School is a secondary school for 11 to 18 year olds in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. It is situated on an extensive site in a residential area of Hoddesdon, surrounded by mature woodland. The school has wide ranging facilities including two halls, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, multiple ICT suites, a specialist ICT music room, and completely refurbished science and food technology facilities. Outside, there is a large playing field and the school has its own woodland area and pond. In 2012 the Signature recording studio was opened, providing first rate recording facilities for students and the community.

Ethos

The school is well known for its excellence in Physical Education and the Arts (Art, Dance, Drama, Media Studies and Music) forging strong links with the local community. In 2012 the school was awarded the prestigious artsmark gold award for the fourth time in recognition of the outstanding work in this area. The school is one of only a handful in the country to have achieved this on four occasions.

As a result of excellence on the athletics field and in various sports, many students have gone on to successfully compete at local, District, Regional, National and International levels.

In addition to successes in arts and in sport, there is a growing culture of academic success in the school with vast improvements seen in exam results over recent years.

The school has a flourishing sixth form with students progressing to top universities each year, including Oxbridge.
