Shenstone Lodge school

Shenstone Lodge school is a residential special school for children with behaviour or emotional difficulties, in Shenstone, Staffordshire, England, between Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield. It caters for children aged 6-13. It also has a second site in Tipton which caters for children 11-16. It offers day placements and also, where appropriate, home tuition.

The school

The school in Lichfield has 4 classrooms for KS1 and 2 and a spearate KS3 unit with 3 additional classrooms, 2 acres (0.81 ha) of land,a big house where the bedrooms and dining room are and an outdoor swimming pool. The school also has a new sports hall, meeting room and changing rooms that were completed in 2010. It caters for boys and girls with a variety of emotional and behavioural issues. The Key Stage 3 unit's primary role is to allow a supported and smooth transition into a mainstream setting. Links have been forged with a number of secondary schools within Sandwell and hopefully more will be created in the future. The school in Tipton has a number of classrooms, independent living accommodation and an outdoor MUGA and field for physical activity lessons. The Executive Head Teacher is Mr S P Butt.

Pupils

In Lichfield, Shenstone Lodge boards 5 days a week for boys; has extended day provision until 6pm for boys and girls and also has school day provision for some. KS3 is solely school day provision. In Tipton the provision is for the school day. The school's maximum number of children as of 2012 is 28 at each site.
