Shenley Academy (formerly known as Shenley Court School) is located in Northfield, Birmingham. The school is run by their Principle- Mrs Ruth Harker, who has become the prime figurehead in the transformation of the school as a whole. Shenley became an Academy in 2009, with many changes occurring in and around the school. One of these changes being in uniform- as the blue and yellow colours that were used by the school for over 40 years were replaced by that of Black and red. The change to an academy also brought a large sum of money to the school- which eventually ended up being used on the building on a new school for the academy, one that will be equipped with the latest and most up to date equipment. The new building opened 10 September 2012 following a 19 month build programme by Main Contractor Lend Lease Construction (EMEA) Limited, formerly Bovis Lend Lease.
