Sheikh Khalifa City

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sheikh Khalifa City (Arabic: مدينة الشيخ خليفة) in the southwestern Gaza Strip, is the site named after United Arab Emirates President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who finances the construction of a major housing programme of 3000 apartments . Once called "Morag", when it was a Gush Katif settlement, it has been retroceded to the Palestinian authorities after the settlers' buildings and facilities were destroyed by Israel in 2005.[citation needed]
