Education

The youngest of five, Shefali was born in Birmingham, England, to Bangladeshi parents who immigrated to the United Kingdom in 1980. She attended the Waverly School before her foray into acting.

Career

Shefali is known for her performances as Parvati Patil in the Harry Potter films, starting with 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Shefali landed the role of Parvati when she was in her last year at the Waverley School in the city of Birmingham. She and Afshan Azad, who plays the character of Parvati Patil's twin sister, Padma Patil, are also good friends, according to Azad.[1]

Although her first role in a film was in Kannathil Muthamittal, the movie for which she won notoriety was Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In the film, Parvati accompanies Harry Potter, played by Daniel Radcliffe, to the Yule Ball held at Hogwarts. Daniel Radcliffe spoke about her: "I had a dance scene with Shefali. She was completely amazing." She is also a friend of actress Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films.
