Shasa is a Los Angeles, California based multinational fast fashion retailer for women, offering apparel, jewelry, accessories, and footwear.

Shasa currently exists in four countries, and as of 2013, employs about 1,500 people. Shasa's global headquarters are based in Vernon, California, which is its distribution center for all domestic and imported goods. Shasa has a second buying office located in the downtown Los Angeles fashion district. The buying office was established in 1995 in downtown Los Angeles to supply the first retail store in Mexico City opened in the same year. Shasa opened its 100th store at the Glendale Galleria Mall (Los Angeles County) on November 2nd, 2013.[citation needed]

The remainder of the US based locations are in Arizona and Texas. The international locations are throughout Mexico, El Salvador and Honduras, while the US flagship stores are strategically spread in Glendale, California; Tucson, Arizona, and Houston, Texas. Shasa has two key international flagship retail locations situated in Cancun and Mexico City. Flagship stores range in size from 8,500 square feet up to 14,500 square feet.

Over 50% of the apparel sold by Shasa is manufactured in the USA[citation needed]; the remainders of products are imported globally depending hot fashion trends. Shasa delivers new product daily to stores thus their tagline "Fresh Fashion Daily". The company also delivers new collections every week, ranging in seasonality based on monthly trend forecasting of the item.

Retail Design Concept Awards

Shasa received the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) award in 2012.[citation needed]

Shasa received its Silver Award in the retail store design category, which honors professional store design and its contribution to the overall success within the retail industry.

Philanthropy

Shasa lends its support to Casa Hogar Alegría, an institution that provides support to women and girls who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Shasa has supported Casa Hogar Alegría since 2008 by donating time and money resulting from the sale of special products.

Shasa also designs custom co-branded products that are sold in the Shasa stores twice a year for fundraising. Shasa has donated more than 400,000 garments and accessories to charities since 2011. Shasa donates large quantities of clothing and accessories to "Dress For Success", an organization that supports the development of communities in poverty situations.

Marketing

Shasa produces fashion campaigns several times a year and uses in-store signage consisting of light boxes, mannequins (changed weekly), window banners, special value certificates, gift cards, mall marketing programs and social networking outlets to promote stores to consumers. The e-commerce portion of the website is planned for launch in 2014.[citation needed]
