Sharon Prabhakar (born on [2] or 4 August 1955[citation needed] [3]) is an Indian pop singer, theatre personality and public speaker. She was an active singer in 1980s and 90s, with a total of seven albums to her credit.

Career

She started her career as a singer during her college days at Lady Shriram College, New Delhi & sang at Mood Indigo, before performing in various musicals, notably Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret and the part of Evita in the musical of the same title directed by the advertisement guru Alyque Padamsee. She is an accomplished stage actress and has been an integral part of the English Theatre scene in Mumbai. Later on in her career she presented a Bollywood programme 'Kya Scene Hai' on Zee TV in 1995.

She released a HIndi Disco album Chal Disco Chal in the early 80s to mixed reviews. Her new album Dilruba released in August 2006. She has appeared as herself in a couple of Bollywood films apart from being playback singer for several songs.

Personal life

She married Brian Mascarenhas in 1978 and divorced in 1982. She then married Alyque Padamsee but is now separated.[4]
