Sharda University is a University established through UP State Act in 2009 and approved by University Grants Commission of India (UGC). It is based in Greater NOIDA, Delhi NCR. The university offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degree courses in Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Nanotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Bioinformatics, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Allied Science, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Journalism and Advertising, Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Law, Languages and Culture. The university has approximately 25000 students out of which 1100 are international students coming from 42 countries globally.
Sharda University is a member of Sharda Group of Institutions (SGI) incorporated in the State of Uttar Pradesh. SGI has campuses in Agra, Mathura and Greater NOIDA totaling 167 acres of land and 3.5 millions square feet of infrastructure. In 2013 the SGI group has more than 25,000 students and around 12,000 alumni well placed in the industry.
SGI established its first self-financing Engineering College in Mathura, UP in 1996 with 160 students. Today, it is the largest Educational Group in North India with 6 colleges and a University, 44 Lacs sqft. built-up area and an asset base of over 900 crores.
History
Mr. P. K. Gupta is the Chancellor of Sharda University and the Founder Chairman of Sharda Group of Institutions. He became an entrepreneur and started his own business of manufacturing and supplying of engineering equipments to various Educational and Research Laboratories in 1980. Slowly and steadily, he spread his business from North India to South India encompassing each and every corner of the country. He would travel extensively on business. Whilst travelling, he noticed a large number of students travelling from North India to South India for attending technical education universities. In those days, there were hardly any engineering colleges in North India due to which students travelled to South India. He also observed the poor education infrastructure and facilities present in North India. This gave him an idea – He decided to make good quality higher education available in North India.
In 1995, this dream became a reality. Sh. P.K. Gupta established the Sharda Education Trust. And by 1996, he started an engineering college in Mathura, under this trust, well known as Hindustan College of Science & Technology, Mathura. In 1997, he initiated a second college for students of management and computer science by the name of Hindustan Institute of Management & Computer Studies, Mathura.
In 1998 Anand Engineering College, Agra commenced and Hindustan Institute of Technology & Management, Agra launched in 1999.
Location
Sharda University campus in Greater NOIDA is situated in Plot No. 32-34 in Knowledge Park III. While driving on Noida Expressway towards Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park III is towards the left hand just 2-3 kilometers before Pari Chowk. Upon turning left, you drive for about 7 minutes on a straight clear road and you will be next to Knowledge Park III.
The area surrounding Sharda University campus in Knowledge Park III is plush green and the roads are mostly empty. So it offers a tranquil backdrop for a morning jog. Or in case, you should want to go cycling, the surroundings of Sharda campus are beautiful, peaceful and there is hardly any traffic.

Infrastructure and Facilities
Sharda University campus is a fully Wi-Fi Campus. With a connectivity which can be accessed from any location in the campus. Infrastructure for Sports and Physical Training includes state-of-the-art Basketball courts, badminton, football and cricket fields for students. The best of equipment and facilities are available for students’ recreation. And for serious sport – our Football team are the reigning champions after playing at the 'Chakravyuh' in All India Sports Tournament. Sharda football team beat the IMS Gzb team at their home ground by 4-1 and brought home the trophy. There is also a brand new gym on campus for the convenience of students with all the latest exercising equipment and machines. All students have access to it. Sharda hostels provide its students with nutritious food, pure drinking water, water heating systems, attached bathroom, 24 hour Security, doctor on call and telephone.
Eateries and Hang Outs
There are numerous on-campus cafes and a Food Court. Students can enjoy a fast paced metro lifestyle right within the campus. Sagar Ratna, Amul Milk Parlour, Bikano, Café Coffee Day, Nescafe run their outlets in the campus. Plus a rooftop Food Court. Outside campus, there are many places one can visit after classes to unwind. Markets and malls within 15 minute walk from campus offer everything right from mouth-watering street food to daily shopping needs to books to go-karting experiences. Some good restaurants are serving most cuisines, some nightlife options and a movie theater too.
Infrastructure
Libraries
Sharda University has eleven separate schools pertaining to various different streams like Engineering, Business Studies, Medicine, Architecture, Dental Science, Media Studies, Law, Language and others. And each of these schools has dedicated Libraries of their own. Each library has an extensive collection of books, scientific and technical journals and electronic reference materials for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students and faculty of that school. The Libraries consist of Reference Sections, Circulation Sections, Audio-visual Sections, Periodical Sections, Book Banks and Digital Libraries. Each school library has automated all its library activities to provide effective and widerange of academic resources such as books, journals, online databases, DVDs and other useful materials.
Laboratories
The colleges have very well equipped Workshops and lab facilities and students are encouraged to acquire application skills and practically verify the knowledge acquired in the class room. SU College labs and workshops are amongst the best equipped in the country, second only to the govt. funded IITs. Well equipped laboratories exist for physics, chemistry, applied mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and IC engines, product and process development, material testing, R&D, advanced computation, software training, telecom, micro processor, DSP, CAD, CAM etc. and are supervised by competent faculty members and instructors. Engineering workshops have the latest machine tools, robotic arms, CNC machines, welding and fabrication facilities, pattern making and foundry etc. for mechanical engineering students. Electrical lab and workshop imparts training and practical testing of electrical motors and L.T. and H.T. equipments, Switch gears, Measurements, Instrumentation. Similarly separate labs exist for all branches e.g. electronics, communication, microwave, civil & environmental engg. and in all over 100 well equipped labs and workshops exist across entire SU spectrum.
Computer Centers
A dedicated computer center at Sharda University provides easily accessible and excellent facility to the faculty and students with over 870 high end computers catering to their academic, research and recreational requirements. Sharda University campus has excellent internet connectivity. Reputed service providers like Airtel (20Mpbs), CJ online (10 Mbit/s) and BSNL NKN (1 Gbit/s) cater to the Internet requirements here.
Classrooms
Sharda University offers a world class infrastructure to its students. All eleven schools are equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms to facilitate teaching and interactivity amongst faculty and students. Classrooms are fitted with latest equipment for making presentations, lectures, debates and group discussions take place in the most convenient and enriching way. Classrooms are multimedia enhanced rooms that help provide an enhanced learning environment for students. The classrooms are a mix of theatre style and normal. Acoustics in classrooms are designed so that sound travels easily and promotes interactivity.

HealthCare
Students of Sharda University have access to medical facilities within the campus as University has a 500 bedded Multi specialty hospital with all modern medical facilities.
Sports fields
Sharda campus houses the state-of-the-art Basketball courts, badminton, football and cricket fields for its students. The best of equipment and facilities are available for students’ recreation. In addition to our home facilities, we have also tied up with Jaypee Greens Sports Ltd for offering their high-end sports infrastructure and facilities to SU students at special rates.

Admission process
For Indian students Sharda University admission brochure may either be downloaded over Internet or obtained from Admission office, Sharda University, Greater NOIDA campus or regional offices. The application fee of INR 1,000 can be deposited either cash at the Sharda University fee counter or your nearest Punjab National bank or Axis Bank branch. You must carry a print out of Voucher (Challan) obtained after filling the online application form. Or you may also pay the application fee through credit card in case of online form submission. Application fee may also be paid via demand draft in favor of “Sharda University – SURE Entrance Test” payable at Greater NOIDA.
For International students Download online common admission form. Fill both sides of Common Admission form. Email scanned copy to us at global@sharda.ac.in, along with all relevant education transcripts and certificates. Wait for confirmation, if not received within 48 hours, drop an email to global@sharda.ac.in. After receiving the approval of the application, Pay registration fees USD 500 to HDFC bank. After receipt of registration amount the applicant will receive a provisional admission letter for applying student visa. Verification follows with complete fees deposition. Attend orientation and confirm enrollment.
Accreditation
Sharda University has been awarded the IAO Full Accreditation for global best practices in Organizational Management, Academic Management and Institutional Performance, in 2011. Refer to Sharda University accreditation certificate. Sharda University was recognized as ‘Best Private University in Delhi-NCR 2012′ Education Excellence Awards 2012, and ‘Best Private University’ in Uttar Pradesh by Time Research in April 2010. The School of Business Studies is rated ‘A’ by CRISIL in 2012 in Delhi NCR, India.
Research
The Research and Technology Development Centre (RTDC) has been established to explore cutting edge high tech research in the frontier areas of Science, Engineering and Medicines. The Research and Technology Development Centre has been created as a centre of excellence and is currently playing an important role in enhancing the Research Methodology and practices for useful technologically products. The centre is equipped with state of the art facilities and working in collaboration with various institutions of repute both at the National and International level.
The current activities which are being pursued at RTDC focus on multidisciplinary aspects. The RTDC team is involved extensively in the indigenous development of the piezoelectric transformer, which is being used in small gadgets like mobiles, laptops, Inverters, etc. The development of the technology for the piezoelectric transformer at the Lab Scale may ensure commercial exploitations at large scale. This work is being supported by Department of Science and Industrial Research, Government of India.
The Research and Technology Development Centre of Sharda University is also involved in the development of energy through Wind, Vegetable oils, Photovoltaic technology and low cost productions of electricity by weight moving mechanism. The development of Nanopores, Nano size particle, Biodiesel are also very important projects which are under progress in RTDC.

The University publishes two international journals, "Journal of Scientific and Technical Research" by School of Engineering and Technology, and "International Journal of Management Issues and Research (IJMIR)" by School of Business Studies.

Co-curricular activities
Chorus
The annual Mega-cultural fest Chorus is the annual mega-cultural festival of Sharda University. A delicious cocktail of cultural diversity, social awareness and unending entertainment, by offering a rich blend of dance, music, arts, workshops and quizzes. Chorus over the past two years has witnessed mesmerizing performances by popular singers such as Sonu Nigam, Simon Webb- Blue, UK, Jal- The Band, and Hard Kaur and a footfall of 15,000 students in Chorus ‘11. Moreover, the festival had offered stellar performances by giants of entertainment industry such as Rannvijay, Roadies host and VJ on MTV, who hosted the famous reality show on the campus.
Ojasvat
Ojasvat is the mega annual All-India Inter-university sports event hosted by Sharda University. At Ojasvat every year, various Colleges and Universities compete with other in sports like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket and Table Tennis.
Cultural events
‘Coke Studio’ Coke and MTV put up a dazzling show at Sharda University campus on Nov. 13, 2013, for the “Coke Studio Megacerts”. Papon and Salim-Sulaiman performed live at the concert.
