Ravalle Quinn (born November 4, 1987), better known by his stage name Shady Blaze,[1] is an alternative hip hop artist from East Oakland, Oakland, California.[2] He is a member of the Green Ova crew.[3] He has collaborated with Main Attrakionz and Friendzone, among others.[4] Stereogum described him as "a Twista/Bone Thugs-style fast-rap specialist who goes all melodiously mile-a-minute over blissed-out cloud-rap beats".[5]

Career

Shady Blaze released Distorted, a collaborative album with the producer Ryan Hemsworth, in July 2011.[6] It was followed by his 2012 solo album, The Grind, Hustle & Talent.[7]

He released Kill or Be Killed with the rapper Deniro Farrar in October 2012.[8] It was produced by Ryan Hemsworth, Friendzone, and Keyboard Kid, among others.[9] Consequence of Sound gave the album 4 out of 5 stars.[10] Stereogum listed it as their "Mixtape of the Week".[11] Shady Blaze released the single, "All I Know", with Deniro Farrar and Lunice in November 2012.[12]

His song, "Rest in Peace R.J.", was listed by Spin as one of their "Rap Songs of the Week" in March 2013.[13] He released the solo album, The 5th Chapter, in May 2013.[14] Another solo album, Green Ova's Most Hated, followed in November 2013.[15]
