The Arabic domain name شبكة. (meaning ".web", and transliterated into English as ".shabaka") is a internationalized domain name top-level domain (IDN TLD) in the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet for Arabic language websites. It was approved for use by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) in March 2013.[1] The domain can be accessed not only with its U-label (شبكة), but also with its A-label equivalent (xn--ngbc5azd).[2] As of October 23, 2013, its status is active.[3]
