Andrew Hughes, better known as Semothy Jones or Sem for short, is an English songwriter and record producer from Islington, London. Semothy first gained attention in 2007 after working closely with old friend Plan B on a bootleg Mixtape called Paint It Blacker.[1] Semothy Jones has since switched styles several times and gone on to work with Professor Green, Lily Allen, Little Boots, Operator Please, Lady Sovereign and many more.[2]
More recently, Semothy was asked to help promote Timbaland's new Beaterator software in the UK .[3] has been praised by Benny Blanco[4] & Popjustice to name a few, and is a Major Music/BMG Publishing signed member of the Biff Stannard songwriting team. In December 2010 it was announced that Propellerhead will be sponsoring Jones.
