Selimpaşa

Selimpaşa, known in Byzantine times as Epibates (Greek: Επιβάτες), is a small town in the European part of Turkey, near Silivri in Istanbul Province.

The city is located on the northwestern coast of the Marmara Sea, 50 km (31 mi) west of Istanbul and 13 km (8.1 mi) east from Silivri on the highway D.100. The town is a native place of the Orthodox saint Paraskevi. Selimpaşa is today a summer resort with long sand beaches.
