Sedlčany (Czech pronunciation: [ˈsɛdl̩tʃanɪ]; German: Seltschan) is a town in the Central Bohemian Region, Czech Republic.
Sedlčany is famous for its cheese Hermelín.
History
Until 1918, Sedlčany - Selcan (previously Seltschan) was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austrian side after the compromise of 1867), head of the district of the same name, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.[1]
