Seabird Airlines is Turkey’s first and only Air Taxi / Airline company to land and take off from water that obtained necessary permits from Turkish Civil Aviation Authority (SHGM) recently.

The company will be ready to take off to the popular holiday resorts of Turkey by the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts with 19 passengers capacity aircraft, in Spring 2012.

Their aim is to bring together the important coastal cities among Aegean and Mediterranean with Istanbul where air transportation is not available.

The planned destinations are (from İstanbul and Alaçatı bases):

İstanbul – Alaçatı

Alaçatı – Bodrum

Istanbul – Bozcaada

as well as for later in summer 2012:

İstanbul – Gökçeada

İstanbul – Çanakkale

Alaçatı – Gökçeada

Alaçatı – Marmaris

Alaçatı – Antalya

Alaçatı – Fethiye

Alaçatı – Göcek

The airline was established in Istanbul, in 2010 by Kürşad Arusan (Chairman of the board).

The Seabird Airlines also has previously indicated plans to extend their fleet with the new -400 Series by Viking Air.
